Making Armor by ConvulsionDesigns Making Armor by ConvulsionDesigns
about this tutorial
For a while now I have been promising that I would make a tutorial on armor and I finally have. Please let me know if it is a bit confusing because I have the feeling it is. I haven't gone back to reread it so I saved a photoshop version if I have to go back and make changes. Hopefully the pictures of the steps themselves will be enough of a guide. I hope you all find this useful. Please leave me a comment if you end up using this tutorial, I would love to see the results.

This image is large, I would suggest downloading for easy viewing.

You didn't fail! You did a very good job on the fit which can be one of the hardest things. I really like it. Keep up the good work! On another note, I love the eyes! Thank you for posting a link by the way. :D

i like it! not filled with a bunch of little details so take away from your explanation. i'll be certain to give this a try this weekend! i don't see anything wrong with the tutorial and i think you came across clearly.

Thanks! I would love to see what you make with it. Maybe you can come up with a more interesting and original design than my swirls. XD

i really love the swirls. they may be rather simple, but with the effects you add onto it they seem more intricate. i do appreciate the gentler curve they give the shining armor in the image itself.

i'll see what i can come up with, but honestly i'll probably settle for swirls or circles or something xD

Haha. Thanks. I have tried going more detailed before but, well, you will see my problem soon enough. When you have all that space to fill, swirls are defiantly the easiest thing to get through it, less planning.

con, this is really awesome and makes total sense =) Very easy to follow and you can really tell what you did because you state it so clearly, nice job!

Thank you so much! I will admit I was worried it would be confusing. Sometimes I am not the best at explaining things. For example, I forgot to talk about brushes until the end. hehe.
